| A
BRIEF HISTORY OF THE TOADS Formed on a whim
in a Kingswinford shed during
late July 2005. The Toads, in
theory, had existed in the minds
of Jon Shepherd and Nick Brown
since a visit to the previous
year?s Baggeridge folk festival,
although fairly typically,
nothing happened for ten months.
Then Nick bought a
bass, an old friend, Graeme Welsh
was enlisted on drums and Jon and
his brother David wrote some
songs. Lots of songs.?
A little later
Louise Harris was brought in on
piano/organ and occasional flute.
She liked it so much she married
the bassist.
And so, The Toads
were spawned...
The Toads are:
Louise Brown:
piano/organ/flute
Nick Brown: bass
David Shepherd:
guitar/bongos/voice
Jon Shepherd:
voice/guitar/arrangements
Graeme Welsh:
drums/percussion/voice
"BLUE IS A
WOMAN" is The Toads first
release: music/lyrics by David
Shepherd. The track was arranged,
recorded and mixed by Jon
Shepherd in the Toadshed using a
macbook running Garageband and
Logic.
More recordings
are in the pipeline.
